Yankee Solutions is committed to the communities it serves and strives to do its work with integrity, humility, and respect. Our business model is based on "community first." To achieve this, we strive to meet the following principles:

• Recognize Tradition. Our family has been in this area for six generations, and we have a profound reverence for the cultural identity of this area. Those who work the land and sea have been the foundation of this place since people first arrived, and we do our best to support the farmers who retain our cultural identity.
• Invest in our Youth. We are strong believers in experiential education and the need for children to use their creativity to shape their communities. We love working with kids. If you would like us in your classroom - or would like to come out to ours - please contact us.
• Be Good Neighbors. Our roots are deep in this area, so we do our best to nurture this place and its inhabitants - human and otherwise.
• Buy Responsibly. Investing in our communities is key to strengthening our economy. Whenever possible we source our products locally, and we strive to reinvest our earnings in locally-owned businesses.
• Deal with our Waste. We are extremely fortunate to live in a community that has provided significant leadership in reducing the amount of waste headed to the landfill. We try to follow suit by conserving materials, reusing them whenever possible, and disposing of any unrecycleable materials responsibly.
• Use Local Currency. We are happy to barter when possible.

Who We Are

Yankee Solutions is owned by Vaughan Woodruff, a native of central Maine. Vaughan graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Civil Engineering and has a degree in Education from Prescott College in Prescott, AZ. He has worked extensively on issues relating to individual and community self-sufficiency - experiences that have taken him to the central highlands of Costa Rica, the mesas of northern Arizona, and the mountains and plains of Montana. In all of this work, he has been focused on bringing his learning back home to central Maine.
